It also made me a little bit sad afterwards. I don't know why.
Actually, I might have an inkling of an idea why. I think it was the random love story in the middle. Seemed so simple, straightforward and beautiful. Guy says something stupid, girl ends up liking him for making a goose of himself. End of story, and they both lived happily ever after.
I think it's the same kind of sad that I get when I listen to Taylor Swift. Who incidentally has a song that coincides with the film:
I now have a phobia of seeing films with love stories in them. Which, I figure, is pretty much every film. Urgh. Guess I'm never watching another movie ever again. Except maybe Avengers. That better not have a love sideplot to it. I don't think I'd be able to handle it. Tony Stark and Captain America or something. What the hell.
Word of the Day: Hunger
Firstly, thanks for your lovely comment. Onto other pressing matters. I'm trying to prevent myself from writing an essay that would probably be greater in length than your entire entry, but my oh my! Taylor Swift is really something special. I was initially weary of her commercial dreamy good girl charm, but it's become increasingly apparent that she is one talented artist. I don't always want to hear about the different dimensions of love, but she has a voice that I am now finding quite exquisite.
ReplyDeleteNo one asked me for my opinion on love but here it is anyway =D I feel that the reality of love is that it's never simple, yet the feeling of loving someone is so deceptively simple. Unrequited love can be compared to a siren luring you in and wickedly flashing hidden fangs when you crash upon her (or his) rocks. Slightly unconvincing as sirens are traditionally women, but men have been known to mislead also. I think my post is longer than yours. Time to run away now. I do like your blog very much, I may become a regular commenter.
