But it's provocative!
Been playing this with alarming frequency in my car for the past two weeks or so. Very catchy beat and pseudo-hookline. Oh, and Jay-Z and Kanye. On the same track. And random guy in the middle of the song.
I'm liable to go Michael, take your pick, Jackson, Tyson, JordanAwesome line.
In other news, my Week from Hell is going pretty badly. Stuff is turning out to be harder than I anticipated. The midsem test for Corp Fi was ok. Pretty sure I screwed up the last question hard, but did alright overall hopefully.
Time to soldier on. Or perhaps sleep. Sleep seems quite appealing right about now.

Adam Le Awesome
Ah, the sweet strains of Adam Levine's voice. Makes any song good.
I should really not be on here. I just found out that my week from hell is a lot worse than I first thought it was.
Why do things almost always work out that way? I'd like for something, just once in a while, to be easier than I originally thought it would be.

The proverbial rollercoaster
I'm constantly fluctuating between nonchalance and extreme worry. Definitely not beneficial for my emotional wellbeing.
Right now, I'm a bit nonchalant about everything.
Got a test this afternoon? Whatever.
Still unemployed for next year? Whatever.
Raining outside? Bit of a worry, but mostly whatever.
This is in contrast to last night, when I was just full-on beating myself up about how much I sucked at life.
And now I'm in this tute, where two groups present on exactly the same question. I don't understand the logic of it, but who am I to question the powers above?

Many happy meetings
When I got home, I realised today was a good day, despite me still being a dud in many aspects of life.
I realised that the reason for it being good was that I ran into about a million and one people that I actually liked today. For the first time in a while, I ran into people that I actually wanted to talk to, and not people that I would rather avoid at all costs.
Upon arriving at uni, I ran into Irene on my way to class. After that, I went to aforementioned class, and felt like a dud all over again.
Then, on my way to my next class, while waiting for Yun, I ran into everyone's favourite white man, Orrin. Or, at least, my favourite white man. We had a good old chat about nothing in particular, and went our separate ways.
After our next lecture, I ran into none other than Ken, he of Vietnamese origin. We had a good old moan about uni, and away he went.
Then I ran into Davy. Funnily enough, Yun and I were discussing him about two minutes before, and how she couldn't get through to his mobile.
Then, I ran into Elene and Irene (again!).
Good times all around.
Now the bad.
I think I have a slight cold. Worst time to get it. And to make it worse (not that they're related or anything. At least, I don't think they are), I split off a bit of my fingernail from my finger when I was all gung-ho and opening a cardboard wrapping this morning. So now it hurts like hell when I try to type, so I'm typing like a guy who only has the use of nine fingers. Timing could've been worse. That's not to say I wanted it to happen, but it's not the worst time for it to happen. Should be healed by tomorrow, so don't worry too much. I know you're worried.
So, Osama bin Laden. My views. Yay.
Personally, I don't really feel anything massive at the news. I mean, I've always subscribed to the view that one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. American troops kill people, he kills people.
I know, I know, people are going to say, 'You'd feel differently if he'd attacked someone close to you.' And yeah, I know I would. But I'd also contend that you'd feel pretty bad too if an American soldier attacked someone close to you.
I understand why people would be happy that he's dead. Especially people that have been affected. I'm not demeaning the suffering that they've gone through by any means. But I think it's also good to remember that in the process of invading other nations, the USA has also killed a lot of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends. Many of them just as innocent as those that suffered in the terrorist attacks perpetrated by bin Laden.
I don't admire the man, but I do respect the fact that he turned away from a life of exorbitantly comfortable living, for an ideology. For something that he believed in. While I know that the vast majority of what he did was utterly reprehensible, I respect that one part of his character. Let me make it clear that I don't love the guy, or what he did, but I just think that the act of ditching billions of dollars for ideology is quite a feat.
Just so that I don't get abused, verbally or otherwise, let me make it quite clear once again: I have no love for the guy. I'm just not in the "Woooo, yeah, he's dead" camp.
Anyway, that's all. I don't think it changes much in the grand scheme of things, but it's good in the sense that it provides some sense of closure for the victims of his attacks.
Back to uni stuff discussion. It's still pretty hectic, and looks like being so for the foreseeable future.
Oh, and I'm getting panic attacks from doing uni work. And my finger hurts from all that typing.

A thousand dreams of Abdul
I had a dream last night. Or, at least, I think it was a dream. It seemed very realistic.
Anyway, this guy left a comment on my blog. His name was Abdul (I know, right?). His comment was relevant to the post for the first sentence, then the second sentence was a link to some dodgy website.
Bizarre.
I blame the exam stress.
Because last night, I was truly stressed. I kind of de-stressed a little bit after today, but it's starting to build up again in preparation for Friday. It's a vicious cycle. The more I stress, the less I study, increasing my stress even more.
One more to go. Focus, I tell myself. Focus.
I'll leave you with this wonderful song. One of like, three Chinese songs that I like. And it's not even in Chinese.

Yesterday, when the war didn't began...I'm so funny
So yeah, I was going to talk about my stress, but it's self-inflicted, so I won't. I'll talk about yesterday instead.
Yesterday was a doozy. Managed to watch a movie, finish an assignment, study for a tad, and go to a 21st. Felt almost on top of the world. Almost.
It began like this. I met up with Irene at Glen Waverley Library to do our French culture quiz thing. We got that done in about an hour and a bit, and that was with constant interruptions about my financial woes over the phone as well.
We then had lunch, and studied for a bit. Well, it was more of her teaching me French than actual studying.
Anyway, after that, I went home and got changed into my suit to go see Tomorrow When the War Began.
Just kidding! I actually had James' 21st straight after that. You knew I wouldn't go to the movies in a suit.
Or would I?!
Moving on. Irene kindly came and picked me up at my house (15 mins early too. Silly duffer. Got the time wrong.) We met up with her sister, Elene, and the sort-of surprise guest, her mother (cue How I Met Your Mother pun).
The movie was so-so. The acting was quite forced at times, but the plot was good. My particular gripe was about the Asian guy. Oh my word. Could not act for peanuts, and stereotyped to the max. I mean, the guy has ninja reflexes. Seriously.
So after that, we said our goodbyes, and I moseyed my way on down to James' 21st.
I seriously ate comparatively nothing. I really regret it now. I think it was because I was so intent on talking to people, and doing this and that. The food was quite nice, but for the price, there wasn't a whole lot of variety.
Speeches were good. I didn't end up saying half the things I wanted to, but I'm sure James knows that I value him greatly as a friend, and how great a guy he is. The speech was slightly funny, which is the important thing.
Good night overall. Plenty of friends to catch up with, and good environment. Happy future birthday James.
Rain is falling outside. I was going to use that to do something poetic, but I can't be stuffed. I'm going to go downstairs to get a drink and de-stress myself.

Battle Studies
And here we are, on the eve of my first battle...I mean, exam. Upon reflection, it's not as bad as I thought it was.
Ah, who am I kidding. It's terrible. Exam tomorrow afternoon, and clash exams on Friday. If somebody's got it worse, please give me a shout. I don't think it's possible to get a worse exam timetable, not to mention the assessments that I did on Monday as well. So don't even bother trying to best me.
Hopefully I'll see you at the other end intact and still sane.
Here is my battle song. In explanation, it's the song I listen to before any examy-type thing. Hopefully it works it's charm a few more times.

Le Ville du Struggle
Urgh. I think I just got completely ripped into before by my French oral examiner.
I turned up late, because I thought I was scheduled to turn up at 2:15, not 1:45.
What was supposed to be a five minute talk ended up being like, a minute and a half.
My grammar flew out the window.
On the upside, my accent was relatively good. And I managed to pitch my voice into what I though was a manly French mumble.
Check this out. Pretty much sums up how beautiful the French language sounds, how wonderful their music is, and how atmospheric their country is.
I also managed to finish my triple essay take-home exam for International Studies.
I just dawned on me, like literally just then, that I have five assessments this week. Five. And I've just completed two. What a way to start the week eh? Funtimes.

French = English spoken with a French accent
Yep, almost end of the mid-sem break, and I have done zero work. Or, as they say in French, zero.
I'm kind of worried about this now. I really needed to have done some work. All my units are harder than ever. Oh well. Guess that means that I'll just have to kick into gear during uni proper.
Having said that, this has been on of the more enjoyable mid-sem breaks that I've had. Ask me about it sometime, and I might tell you about it. It's too hard to articulate in written words, which here means that it sounds a bit lame written down.
Another two months or so of uni to look forward to now. The first month seemed to take so long.
Sigh.

Worries
I am very worried about many things at the moment. All these pressures are just starting to build up. I hope there never comes a day where that final straw breaks this particular donkey's back.
First and foremost, Linda is driving me crazy. I have no idea why she's been ignoring me for a week. At first, it made me worried. Then it made me very, very sad when I realised that she may be ignoring me. Then I found out for certain that she's been ignoring me, for some inexplicable (to me) reason. Deep depression set in, I was about to cry, then I manned up. Now I'm just seething with anger and sadness. It's a dangerous mix. I might skip dinner tonight just so that I don't get to my family. I've tried my hardest, I haven't deliberately done anything wrong by her, and to the best of my knowledge, I haven't done anything wrong. I think what gets me the most is the fact that she's been ignoring me, without me knowing what I've done wrong. Like, she hasn't even shouted at me or anything similar.
I'm confused can you make me understand
Cos I try to give you the best of me
I thought we were cool, maybe I was blind
Next up on my pile of stress is my real estate course. I want to finish it by the end of this holiday.
Thirdly is worry about what the upcoming semester will bring. From here, it looks like a semester of academic hell. And possibly other types of hell.
Fourthly, I'm stuck in limbo about what to do about my clarinet. Do I go on, and take it half-paced, or do I stop? This is actually a big concern of mine. It's so hard to make a decision.
These would hardly be problems if Linda just started talking to me again. God, I never knew that someone could cut me this deeply. Looks like my heart isn't as cold as many people think it is.
